I am Rafeel. One of the things I have come to know in my heart is that in reality, there are no coincidences. Let me explain what I mean. Reality, in my understanding, is the divine pattern of all creation within which—because God, our Universal Father, is the source of this pattern—each moment of our lives is destined to be encompassed in that divine plan. Therefore, I do not think it is a coincidence that we are meeting, and perhaps not for the first time, at this point in time and space on the Internet. What a marvelous gift God has given us! What potentials for both of us can be possible arising from this moment! When there are trillions of inhabited worlds in the universes of time and space, why is it that we are together on this particular planet at this moment in time? It is something to think about, and the fact is, we have indeed been led to this meeting for a divine purpose.

I am a fourth-order starseed and have not always understood God's plan or even liked it. Often I have thought I had a better plan for my life than He did and have rebelled against it and gone my own way. This has always brought misery into my life, as well as to untold others, but unwise choices outside of God's will often do inflict great pain. If we have met before, perhaps during one of those moments or even years of cosmic insanity I have caused pain to you or to someone you loved. Perhaps you followed my advice or my wishes or my desires and were led astray by them. It was not intentional, but whether it was out of my misplaced compassion, my misplaced loyalties to the things of this world, or just plain ignorance, I am asking your forgiveness. If this is our first meeting, we cannot really know each other very well in this brief encounter, but one thing I can say to you is this; I have dedicated my life to you, and this is how that came to be.

As a young man, after a sometimes meaningless and often unsatisfactory search for happiness and fulfillment within The Great American Dream over a period of about 20 years, my search for ultimate truth became rekindled during the great demonstration of the activation of the Holy Spirit which opened the eyes and generated an outpouring of brother/sisterhood in the Haight-Ashbury days in San Francisco. I didn't understand it in those terms at the time, but there was a return of hope and faith that something better and more real could happen. My own awakening from self-gratification and complacency created a spiritual hunger in me which enabled the living spiritual forces to begin to move me forward. I wanted to do something to awaken others.

In 1968 I was a public librarian administering a project to bring innovative library services to the streets of the ghettos and an experimental program to bring the resources of a large metropolitan library to small towns. As I began to see more clearly the emptiness of materialism and secularism and the bankruptcy of our social, political, and religious institutions, I knew that these small changes within that system were not going to be enough and I could no longer be a part of that system. I made an abrupt change in my life, left the city, and went back to the land not knowing how I was going to survive or exactly what I was going to do. But by following my inner urge and acting upon it out of faith, that provided the fulcrum for positive change. Soon after, the gift of The URANTIA Book came into my hands and all of a sudden unlimited vistas opened up and a true spiritual rebirth began to redirect my life and give me a sense of my destiny purpose for being on this planet, something that was truly satisfying in the pursuit of it.

I embarked on a faith walk with Christ Michael, Jesus, bringing the Fifth Epoch Revelation and other expanded truth related to the present-day timetable for "the latter days" and the vision for the great changes that were to lead to the dawning of a new age. There was much to learn about faith and trust and following God's direction as I was able to discern it. Through it all I carried this vision of the ending of the rebellion and restoration of the spiritual circuits on this planet and that somehow I was a part of that. I resonated with the concept of the "cosmic reserve corps" mentioned in The URANTIA Book, and sided with those celestial spirits who believed that Machiventa Melchizedek could make his appearance as Planetary Prince in the near future. Meanwhile, I did what I could to uplift the consciousness of those others around me who were seeking higher truth. It was a difficult but rewarding struggle.

When I heard that Machiventa Melchizedek had become Planetary Prince of Urantia in 1989, I knew that long awaited changes and new assignments would be forthcoming. A year later a written transmission came to my attention via a visitor passing through Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I was living. I had grown weary of searching through the New Age bazaar for bits and pieces of additional truth, and this transmission was the first "channeled" material speaking in Fifth Epochal Revelation terminology that I had seen. I had longed for the time when those wonderful beings who brought the URANTIA revelation through would continue the revelation, so I was very exited about this significant development. This message from the finaliter, Ashtar, was given to Gabriel of Urantia, an audio fusion material complement who had the Mandate of the Bright and Morning Star. After some correspondence, phone calls, and added information from Paladin, Chief of the Finaliters on Urantia, I realized it was necessary to move to Sedona and on May 10, 1991 I arrived at my Planetary Sacred Home.

I came to join with Gabriel and Niánn because I knew that Christ Michael was calling me to work under their Mandate and that this was the next step in my evolution. I was definitely not looking for a community or even a human teacher. I came with commitment to the work but I still carried the burden of many of my human flaws, some of which I didn't even realize at the time. I soon found out that this was going to be the first order of business. Before, while I was trying to share The URANTIA Book and other truth as I found it, I was trying to do the Father's will, but I see more clearly now that I was still far from being in His perfect will even when I thought I was. I was functioning mostly within His permissive will. It brings to mind a maxim I recently read. "The things that don't exist are the hardest to get rid of." Here, with the help of celestial spirits and morontia counseling, I am able to peel off deeper layers of formerly unrecognized patterns that hold me back in my ascension. That is very challenging, but there is nowhere else on this planet where one can find more dedicated, more loving, and more caring family members to help one dissolve those handicaps and transcend one's lower nature. I have found that destiny purpose I was seeking now, but I am still diligently working to reach stabilization on the higher psychic circles in the experiential Starseed and Urantian Schools of Melchizedek in order to fulfill that destiny. It is an eternal progression but the next step is always just one decision away.

It has been eight years now that I have had the benefit of serving Christ Michael under the wise and loving leadership of Gabriel of Urantia/Van (see The URANTIA Book , Paper 67 to learn more about the loyal Van) and Niánn Emerson Chase. Because of the guidance and participation of our spiritual elders, seen and unseen, I know that what we are doing is making a positive difference for every human being on this planet in ways that I could not have imagined in the beginning. I see the transformations of grace taking place in all of us here, and the power of love grows daily. We are pioneering a new society based entirely on the implementation of God's will in our individual lives and within a union of souls in an ever-expanding cosmic family. It is a very challenging yet liberating experience, and the best teachers on the planet are here. Who else among us but the loyal Van and Niánn along with Amadon of Urantia and Ellanora of Panoptia would Michael send to lead us out of rebellion? Love goes before us through the guidance of the celestial spirit beings, and I consider it a great privilege that I am allowed to remain here and serve in their exalted company.

The URANTIA Book says that "Happiness ensues from the recognition of truth because it can be acted out, it can be lived." We are living a Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation day by day, and the pace is continually accelerating. Having accepted my assignment and received my orders to advance, I am no longer troubled by doubts of failure and perplexing confusion because I have complete faith in Gabriel of Urantia/Van and Niánn, that in their exemplary humility before God and their seasoned wisdom they will meet the destiny that Michael and the Bright and Morning Star have entrusted to them, and I share Christ Michael and the Universe Mother's magnificent vision of the future of this planet as it unfolds. Christ Michael has forgiven me my sins of the past and once again invited me to sit at His table and learn His ways. I am determined to justify His mercy toward me and His faith in me no matter what it takes. If you care about the souls on this planet and wish to learn how to be a true change agent for Jesus Christ Michael then allow those of us who have gone before you to impart what we are learning and with it to discover the same peace of mind, the fulfillment, the security in God, and the incredible opportunities for service that this ministry has opened up for me and for all of us.
